- Lead the design, implementation, and management of comprehensive security strategies
- Build and maintain secure, resilient systems to protect against evolving threats
- Develop and implement security solutions across infrastructure and applications
- Ensure system hardening across:
- Linux environments
- Windows systems
- Network infrastructure
- Secure cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Ensure compliance with DISA-STIG security standards
- Diagnose and resolve complex security issues, delivering timely and effective solutions
- Partner with internal teams to maintain uptime, compliance, and operational security integrity
- Communicate security risks, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership
- Operate as the sole, hands-on System Security Engineer, driving initiatives independently

- Logging & monitoring:

- Hands-on experience securing:

- Network devices and hypervisors
- Expertise in:

- VLAN segmentation
- ACL configurations
- Strong understanding of:
- TCP/IP
- Network security protocols
- Encryption and authentication systems
- Experience securing:
- AWS, Azure, and/or GCP environments
- Containerization:
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- Advanced proficiency in:
- Python
- Bash
- Ability to automate tasks and build security tools
- Experience with frameworks:
- PCI-DSS
- SOC 2
- NIST
- ISO
- Tools and technologies:
- Vulnerability scanning: Tenable Nessus
- Network tools: Cisco FMC, Extrahop
- SIEM: Splunk
- EDR: Trellix
